A Los Angeles l’Academy annuncia le candidature per i 24 premi in palio il 9 febbraio. Anche quest’anno, la cerimonia che si terrà al Dolby Theatre di Los Angeles non avrà un conduttore ufficiale: i vincitori verranno annunciati dalle star coinvolte nelle presentazioni delle varie categorie.
Niente di sorprendente. In cima alla classifica, Joker (già vincitore di 2 Golden Globe e del Leone D’Oro a Venezia, dal 6 febbraio in home video), con undici candidature. Seguono The Irishman, Once Upon a time in Hollywood e 1917, tutti in corsa con dieci nomination. Sei per Parasite, Jojo rabbit e Piccole Donne, cinque per Storia di un matrimonio.
Tra le curiosità: la doppia candidatura di Scarlett Johannson per due diversi film: Storia di un matrimonio (Marriage Story) come protagonista e Jojo Rabbit come non protagonista.
