Riley Bowen: visita al Mercato Contadino a Valle Faul – visit to the Farmer’s Market in the Valle Faul Park

Every Wednesday Viterbo hosts an amazing farmers’ market in the Valle Faul Park, where you can find fresh, homemade goods grown and sold by gracious people.

There you can discover live music, oils, wine, jams/jellies, all kinds of fresh produce, cheese, meat, handpicked bouquets, incense, pastries and much much more.

I’ve had the pleasure of talking to one of the delightful vendors: Mary. She delicately arranges both fresh and dried bouquets in beautiful compositions, all grown in her garden. Mary offers a large variety of products in her stand: bread of various types, pastries, incense, bouquets, pasta, jams, oils, wine, delightful wreaths and more.

Every week the Farmers’s Market offers something different; some weeks there is a dj playing live music, while other weeks you may be lucky enough to try a delicious potluck provided. With a small donation you can test a little bit of everything they have to offer, with drinks, desserts and many side dishes.

This Farmers’s Market is so welcoming with all of the warm-hearted vendors and one can find there a widespread sense of community. This is a great event if you are looking for natural products and are interested in giving back to the community and in supporting local businesses.
